The Flag Market in Preston city centre is seen by many as an iconic symbol of the indutrial powerhouse the north once was. Others see it as an outdated relic in need of sprucing up. The Lancashire Evening Post has run a series of articles about the future of the area but, not one to take their word for anything, I decided to do my own, completely unscientific survey of attitudes.
